Dear Parents,
November 2009
I hope everyone has a wonder holiday! Happy Thanksgiving!!
Wednesday November 24 is the Thanksgiving Brunch all Pre-School students are
invited to attend. If it is NOT yours child's day to be at school please drop
them off at 10:30 pick up is at 12:05.This is a causal dress day.
Please let us know if your child WILL attend.Thank You.
We are now working on the color yellow, the shape square, the numbers one,
two and three. We will continue to work on the children's names and the
letters of their names. Please help your child to say, clearly, their full
name; first and last. Does your child know their birth date, month and
date?,We will begin to ask your child this information. While driving to and
from school it would be a great time to talk to your child about these things.
On November second the letters of the Alphabet began to be introduced. They
will not be taught in order. The letters will be introduced Ll, Tt, Ff, Ee,
Hh, Ii. Letter Ff will be our focus Nov 16 to 19. Letter Ee will be introduced
Nov.23 and will be covered until Dec. 4.
REMINDER: No School on Friday Nov.20; Did you get your conference time?
If your child is full day Please remember they need a crib sheet to put on the
mat. The mat is very uncomfortable with out a sheet. It is also for sanitary
reasons a crib size sheet is needed.
For Math we will be exploring patterns, naming shapes and counting to 5 before
the end of November.
I hope everyone enjoyed the frog puppet; the poem on back will be used during
the school year as we learn to count objects (insects). Please keep the frog
safe the children may wish to use him again to sing the song as we add insects
to count in class.
The theme in Religion is "We say "Thank You" to God on Thanksgiving."The purpose
is to help the children be aware that our Thanksgiving celebration is a time
when we thank God for all the good things he has given us.
If you have not as yet brought in a picture of your family Please send
one ASAP thank you.We have put them up in the class. As the missing pictures
arrive we will put them up. The children are excited to show their pictures to
their friends.
God Bless You,
Mrs. Mary Lou Macartney
