Dear Parents, December 2009

Attention: Something new will be coming home each week, a calendar, Please be
sure to keep this in your child's folder. This will give you some information
about your child's day. Please sign the calendar each week.

Please send gloves, hat and boots(when snow is on the playground. It stays
there longer than on the grass or sidewalk). Please be sure to send shoes when
your child wears boots. We have been showing the children how to put on their
own coats and zipping etc them. Please encourage your child to do these things
with guidance.

We are now working on the color blue, the shape oval, the numbers
one, two, three, four, and five. We will continue to work on the children's
names and the letters of their names. Please help your child to say, clearly,
their full name; first and last. Does your child know their birth date, month
and date? Does your child know their address,We will begin to ask your child
this information in January. While driving to and from school it would be a
great time to talk to your child about these things.

On November second the letters of the Alphabet began to be introduced. They
will not be taught in order. The letters will be introduced Ll, Tt, Ff, Ee,
Hh, Ii, Vv, Ww, Nn, Mm, Zz, Xx, Aa, Yy, Kk. Letter Vv will be our focus this
week. Next week,January 11 we will work on the letter Ww.

If your child is full day Please remember they need a crib sheet to put on the
mat. The mat is very uncomfortable with out a sheet. It is also for sanitary
reasons a crib size sheet is needed. This sheet should have 4 fitted corners.

For Math we will continue exploring patterns, sorting, classifing, naming
shapes, and counting to 5. In our next unit, the students will learn will to
identify and describe geometric solids sphere, cone, cube, and cylinder.

The theme in Religion is " God made us so we can smell, taste, see, hear,
touch,and feel.
love" The purpose is to help the children be more aware of and appreciate
their 5 senses.

                               God Bless You,

                             Mrs. Mary Lou Macartney
