All families should be checking for school email daily - all notices are
going out by email. No paper notices will be sent home.

All students are expected to be writing their homework in their planners.
Mr. Rinaldi will be speaking to all junior high students on Oct 16, if they
brought in their permission slip.
Please check out the Links page. I am adding links for
Social Studies. I have already added the publisher's website for our new
textbook, American Journey, which is being used by the 7th grade. There are
loads of practice materials, videos, graphic organizers and summaries of the
chapters for the student to use. Please encourage your child to take
advantage of these resources.
I will be stressing note-taking for all Social Studies classes this
year. Tests will be taken from the student's notes. I will write the notes
on the board or in a Power Point presentation for the 6th grade. They will
be expected to copy but we will also practice the skill of reading and
creating notes for ourselves. Seventh and eighth graders will also be
practicing the skill of writing notes for themselves. I will periodically
be checking and grading them for copying down the notes given in class.
However, eighth graders will be given a minimal amount of notes to copy -
they will be expected to be listening to the lesson, reading the lesson and
adding additional notes of their own. We will in the first quarter be
practicing this skill.
