NAME:
Mrs. Savarese
SCHOOL:
Our Lady of Lourdes School
CLASS:
4th Grade
Mrs. Savarese grew up on Long Island, NY. She majored in geology in college
because her favorite school subject is science. Mrs. Savarese also enjoys
reading and writing. Mrs. Savarese likes teaching because she likes to help
students discover and deepen their interests.
Mrs. Savarese hopes that all of her students will develop or continue their
love of reading. This is why students are reminded to practice their
reading skills each night by completing the "Reading Log." You can choose
any book that you are interested in by visiting the school library or your
town's library. Or maybe you can find a good book right in your own home!
Students will also be working to strengthen math computation skills. Get
ready for the daily "Mad Minute," which will make you very fast at crunching
those numbers!
Mrs. Savarese will also help students become better writers. Each morning,
we will share our answers to some mind-jogging journal questions that are
sure to get you thinking. We will also learn to use the writing process
through peer editing and the use of several writing drafts. At the end of
the
school year, we will be taking the Terra Nova writing exam using our
computer
typing skills. We will be practicing the traits of writing which include
word
choice, fluency, conventions, and much more.
