I pay enough taxes; why should I help the OEF?

Your property taxes remain the most important source of funding 
for Oakland's schools.  However,  due to rising costs in many 
areas,  the school budget does not provide for some of 
the "extras" that can benefit students and further our school 
district's top rating.

What sorts of

In past years we have funded a state-of-the-art science lab at 
Valley Middle School;  dozens Mac Book computers as well as other 
school technology; supported anti-bullying programs;  supported 
5th grade field trips to the Buehler Science Center; and assisted 
elementary schools with a library automation program and new 
books.  This year,  we would like to assist the school 
board in purchasing a few more Smart Boards -interactive 
technology that many local area school districts have already 
invested in.

Attend our annual dinner dance fundraiser and/or buy raffle 
tickets!  Donations are tax-deductible and eligible for matching
