You should practice a minimum of two times at home and preferably have some one video tape you so that you can watch yourself. You might uncover unusual gestures or habits that you do during the reading that you might want to eliminate (example: swaying back and forth, shifting your weight from one foot to the other). Also, look to vary your pacing. Speed up a little on an exciting part; slow down and pause during the more serious parts of your piece. Read slowly and make eye contact with your audience.
