I have been an English teacher for 32 years. I taught 8th and 9th grades in
Elizabeth, NJ. Since coming to Scotch Plains Fanwood in 1986, I have been
teaching eighth grade exclusively. I graduated from The College of
St.Elizabeth
and received a Masters in Education from Rutgers University and a Masters in
Liberal Studies from Kean University. I still enjoy teaching, and I look
forward to a great year!
My mission is to provide an educational environment in which students will
advance their vocabulary and writing skills, especially in expository writing,
and develop analytical skills in approaching all literature. I will also
introduce
them to Shakespeare and coach them in NJASK8 preparation. This will allow
students to move to the high school confident in their ability to succeed and
even excel in English classes. I also wish to provide an environment where
students feel I am their mentor. To accomplish this I will make myself
available
to the students as often as I can.
