What should I do if I miss class due to band, chorus or TIB?
If you miss class for band, chorus, TIB or another school obligation, you
are responsible for making up the work. You must see me that day to find out
what work you missed and to turn in any work that was collected. You are
responsible for completing the work and showing it to me the following day as
if you hadn't missed class at all.
What if I miss class due to illness?
If you are absent from school due to illness, it is your responsibility to
see
me right away when you return. We will discuss appropriate due dates and
expectations depending on your individual situation. However, remember that
it is your responsibility to come see me. If you do not show me the work that
was due during your absence, you will not receive credit for it.
What do I need to do to be prepared for class each day?
1. Your three ring binder with a separate section for Language Arts that
has your Language Arts folder and lots of loose-leaf paper.
2. Writer's Notebook
3. Agenda book (this should be in your binder).
4. Pens and pencils
5. Completed homework and assignments
What is your homework policy?
Homework will be posted on the white board each day when you arrive in class.
It is your responsibility to copy it down as soon as you get settled each
day. I also post daily and long term assignments on my website. However, it
is important that you develop the habit of copying down the homework each day
as you enter the room since there may be an occasion when I am not able to
post the work on my website. Each homework assignment is worth 10 points.
If
you hand homework in the next day (one day late), you may receive half
credit.
After that, there is no make-up option and your grade will remain a 0.
If you hand in a major project/writing piece late, you will lose 10 points
for each day it is late.
