In your notes, record: 1) the defined terms with definitions, 2) the 3 checkpoint questions with answers, and 3) your answers to questions 3 and 5 on page 128. Due Wednesday, Nov. 18. Friday, Nov. 13: Prepare for Monday's graded discussion on Athens vs. Sparta: which polis offers the better life. Make sure the notes you will be using to help you make your points are adequate. Some students have submitted written requests for a particular city-state, and those requests will be honored. If you have a request and did not submit it in class, send me an email, and I will confirm whether that city-state is still available. Students who are interested in obtaining extra credit may also create a Greek nameplate for Monday's debate. The graded discussion assignment sheet and a Greek alphabet guide were distributed in class on Wednesday. Thursday, Nov. 12: See Wednesday below. Wednesday, Nov. 11: Study for Friday's quiz. Beginning tomorrow in class you will have the opportunity to prepare for the graded discussion on Athens vs. Sparta: which polis offers the better life. Also refer to the following handouts: Greek Values exercise, Section 4-1 notes (defined terms), CE on health care, CE on Election Day, and CE on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as today's documentary viewing guide. 3) HW that was originally due today will be checked tomorrow.
