Section 2 and 3 - Write definitions for the 12 vocabulary words assigned on
Monday.
Review pages (Section 3 215-225)(Section 2 215-222) "The Most Dangerous
Game" for Wednesday. Be prepared to discuss the first part of this story.
Have questions and comments prepared.
Section 1 - Due Thursday:
1. Have definitions of vocabulary words in your notebook.
2. Answer questions 1-10 on the "Most Dangerous Game" worksheet.
3. Read "MDG" to page 229 (bottom)

Section 2 - Make a chart of Walter Mitty's daydreams. Then, put definitions
of vocabulary words in notebook, write a sentence for each word in journal.

Write a one paragraph reaction to "The Jade Peony" What came to your mind
while you were reading the story? What does the story mean to you?
Read "The Cask of Amontillado" beginning on page
61 in your textbook. Be prepared to discuss the plot.
For Wednesday (10/21 or Thursday) Read page 60 in your textbook. Then, do
some research on Edgar Allan Poe. Look in books or online to fine any ten
facts you think are important about his life or works. List these facts on
looseleaf to hand in. Include your source (where you found the information)
Read "The Necklace" pp. 294-301 and "The Gift of the Magi" pp. 246-
251 in
your textbook. Compare and contrast the two main characters as described in
the handout. (If you did not get a handout, you can create your own chart,
list or paragraphs.)
