 fifth grade  students at Ridgeway School.

Al Capone Shines My Shoes (Gennifer Choldenko)
     A 14-year-old boy named Moose and his 7 year old sister Natalie move to
     Alcatraz with their family, where his dad's job is. Alcatraz is an island off the
     coast of California and there is a prison on it. The kids get friendly with other
     children on the island and get involved in a situation where they have to solve a
     mystery. Janay B. recommends this book to 5th graders who enjoy interesting
     and captivating stories. She gives it !

Extra Credit (Andrew Clements)
     This story is about a girl who needs to do extra credit because she has bad
     grades. She has to write to a boy in Afghanistan and they learn a lot about
     each other. Jo'wae W. liked this book and recommends it for 4th or 5th
     graders. She gives the book .

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (C. S. Lewis)
     This story takes place during World War II and it is about about 4 children,
     Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter. The children need to go live with a Professor
     who has a piece of furniture in his house called a wardrobe. They go inside the
     wardrobe which leads to a mysterious place called Narnia. Alexis D. recommends
     this book because it is interesting and good for your imagination.

Room One (Andrew Clements)
     Room One is about a boy who delivers newspapers and one day he comes upon
     a girl in the window of an abandoned house. Brianna C. thinks anyone in 4th or    
     5th grade, who likes to read mysteries, will enjoy this book. She gives the book
