With the blink of an eye, Thanksgiving is upon us!
Thank you to all of the families who were able to make it to McDonald's Night
this past Thursday. It certainly was a pleasure seeing you there! Thanks to
you, we were able to raise an extra $620 for Manchester's Holiday Drive,
Kevin's Kids.
This past Friday, the students ran in the Turkey Trot! Everyone did a
fantastic job! Congratulations to Abryanna and Hector who each won a turkey!!
Also, congratulations to Hager and Josh S., who each won a pie. I hope that
you and your familes enjoy it on Thanksgiving. :)
This week, although is short, will be very busy! In Reading, we will be
reading about the Pilgrims, as we begin our unit on Colonial Life. In Math,
we will continue subtracting across zeroes. The students are doing a really
great job with their regouping, but would benefit greatly if they knew their
basic facts better! Please remind them to practice at home.
Report Cards will be sent home this Wednesday. Because conferences will not
be until next week, please do not hesitate to email me if you have any
questions regarding the report card. Otherwise, we'll discuss everything at
our conference! I am looking forward to meeting with all of you to discuss
your child's progress. Confirmation times were sent home last week. If you
did not recieve yours for some reason, or lost it, please let me know and I
will send home another one.
Writing Portfolios will be issued at conferences, as well. Please disregard
the original date that is on your Chalk Talk.
This Wednesday we will be having our Pie Sampling. If you offered to send in
a supply or a pie, please remember to send it in with your child on
Wednesday. Parents, take that time to do what you need to do for yourself!
Happy Thanksgiving!
There are still spots available if you would like to be a Mystery Reader!
Please contact me if you are interested-- or, if you have no idea what I am
talking about. ;)
I'd like to take a quick moment to thank all of the staff, parents, and
community members who have been yahooing for Mrs. Policastro and I. Together,
we have gotten $9,253 from yahoos. How can we ever thank you enough?
Please also remember that our school is always collecting the following
items: box tops, terra cycle wrappers (capri sun pouches, frito lay/nabisco
wrappers, etc.), campbell's upc labels, coke rewards codes/points, and tyson
chicken wrappers. It's a lot- but it is money going directly to our students!
Thanks for your help!
As always, If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to
contact me!
