Welcome Back!! I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday, and a great New
Year!
I must take a moment to thank the parents, students, friends, and family
members who took the time out of their day to either contribute a video or a
blog (or both!!) for the My Teacher, My Hero promotion. Because of you, our
classroom will recieve about $8,000 worth of materials from
donorschoose.org!!! Most of which is technology. I am very excited to begin
to infuse more technology into our classroom as it becomes available to us.
This is because of you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
After a long break from school, we are going to start this year off right-
with a party! Since our holiday party had to be cancelled due to the snow, we
will have it Monday @ 1:15.
This week in Reading, we will begin a new unit focusing on Non-Fiction. We
will read Fly Traps! Plants That Bite Back. We will learn how to use
graphic sources to help better understand what we read, and we will also
begin to learn about nouns in grammar.
In Math, we will continue to tell time, as we continue to also work with
multiplication. Towards the end of the week, we will begin our unit on
Graphing. Please continue to practice addition, subtraction, and
multiplication facts at home!!
In Science, we will begin our study on Rocks!
Please remember that our school is always collecting the following
items: box tops, terra cycle wrappers (capri sun pouches, frito lay/nabisco
wrappers, etc.), Campbell's upc labels, coke rewards codes/points, and tyson
chicken wrappers. It's a lot- but it is money going directly to our students!
