Homework

Homework is an intergral part of the Kindergarten program. It is very
important for your child to get into the daily habit of completing this.
Every Monday a sheet will go home explaining the homework as well as the
events and curriculum for the week.
                       PLEASE, PLEASE READ THIS.
Please find a quiet place that is condusive to thinking and learning for
your child to work.
Each child received a goodie bag filled with crayons, pencils, glue stick and
scissors. These things are for HOMEWORK only and only for your KINDERGARTEN
child to use. This gave them everything they need to get started.
I explain the homework in great detail each day. It is your child's
job to listen to and follow these directions. Of course they are only 5 and
may need some of your guidance too!

Parents PLEASE remember that homework is YOUR CHILD'S RESPONSIBILITY not
your's. Please DO NOT DO your child's homework for them. This does not help
them, but does send them the wrong message.
They are also responsible for writing their own name! If you are ever in
doubt that I will not understand what they have written you can write
underneath their work an interpretation. I am usually pretty good though at
figuring out what they were saying.

If your child is having a particularly hard time with an assignment
and you are unable to help (help, NOT DO)please write me a note so I can
follow up in school. If your child is having a temper tantrum about homework
it is CRUCIAL that you contact me. This is the beginning of a LONG
educational road for your child. If we work together we can make this a fun
and exciting journey for your child.
