Please take the time to look above under the Important - "pointing finger" to see how you should set up your notebook post (after) Notebook quiz. I was pleased how many of you stepped-up to the plate and used the 2 weeks I gave you to prepare and listened to to directions I gave you the day before. However, some of you are not quite there yet and we will be having at least three more notebook quizzes, so let's get off on the right foot this time. See me if you have any questions. We will also be starting to learn about the Fertile Crescent this week. Remember, it is very important that you always come to class prepared and ready to learn. =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= Week of: 11/30/2009 Monday, November 30, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: “Two Rivers: Tigris and Euphrates” ws Tuesday, December 1, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Complete Chapter 2 – Section 1 – Guided Reading •Due Tomorrow: Chapter 2 – Section 1 – Chapter Summary Wednesday, December 2, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Chapter 2 – Section 2 – Guided Reading, Questions 1 – 5 •Due Tomorrow: Chapter 2 – Section 2 Vocabulary Thursday, December 3, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Complete Chapter 2, Section 2 Guided Reading Questions 6 - 25 •Due Tomorrow: Chapter 2 – Section 2 – Chapter Summary Friday, December 4, 2009 HW:HOLD - THIS HOMEWORK WILL BE ASSIGNED ON MONDAY •Due Monday: Chapter 2, Section 3 Guided Reading Questions 1 – 3 •Due Monday: “The Code of Hammurabi” ws REVISED HOMEWORK •Due Monday: Chapter 2, Section 3 Guided Reading Questions – except questions 1, 2, 3, and 8 •Due Monday: Complete Sec. 3 Assessment question 2a, b, and c. =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= Week of: 11/23/2009 Monday, November 23, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Chapter 2, Section 1 Vocabulary on ws •Notebook Quiz - Wednesday Tuesday, November 24, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Completed One-Paragraph essay •Notebook Quiz - Tomorrow Wednesday, November 25, 2009 HW: •No Homework Thursday, November 26, 2009 THANKSGIVING BREAK Friday, November 27, 2009 THANKSGIVING BREAK =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= Week of: 11/16/2009 Monday, November 16, 2009 HW: •CHAPTER 1 TEST: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH •Due Tomorrow: Timeline ws – if not completed in class Tuesday, November 17, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Class work on main idea, if not completed in class •CHAPTER 1 TEST: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH Wednesday, November 18, 2009 HW: •Due Tomorrow: Review questions, if not completed in class •CHAPTER 1 TEST: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH Thursday, November 19, 2009 HW: •CHAPTER 1 TEST: Tomorrow Friday, November 20, 2009 HW: •No Homework =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= Remember, to keep all assignments until you are told to remove them from your binder. YOUR THREE-RING BINDER This is WHAT you should have in your binder and WHERE it should be filed. It is important that you keep your binder organized so that you will have all you need when a Notebook Check is given, which will be a quiz grade. Hold in your notebook for the FINAL Notebook Check. I follow the homework policy outlined in the Student Handbook - so please read and review the handbook when it is sent home. To receive full credit on their assignments, students need to bring all homework in completed and on time. Late or missing homework that does not come in with a note from their parent(s) or guardian(s) or is the result of an absence will not receive credit. MATERIALS FOR MY CLASS Materials you need for Ms. Ventricelli's class * 3 Ring Binder (2 or 2 1/2 inch binder is the best for my class) * (Optional: You may want to keep your POD's - "Problem of the Day" in a spiral notebook instead of your binder) Spiral notebook with 3 holes - not too thick - just in case you want to store it in your binder. * Pens: I allow you to use gel pens for note taking and homework, but your tests/quizzes must be done in blue or black pen for full credit. Notebook set-up 3-Ring Binder Set-Up * Dividers (3)-Should be labled: Chapter Work, Skills, and Notes (put blank paper in your notes section. * You can also use spiral notebooks for your notes and POD. If this is the way you would like to set up your notebook, you will only need two dividers labled Chapter Work and Skills. =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^=
