Allow me to share a bit about myself. I have been teaching at Arleth for 5
years now. Those years were spent teaching kindergarten and I am lucky
enough to have you in my class for my first year as a first grade teacher!
Before that, I attended Mount St. Mary's
College in Emmitsburg, MD for my bachelors degree in Elementary Education
and
graduated in 2004. I enjoy attending classes to further my own education
and,
therefore, decided to continue my learning at Monmouth University where I
earned my Masters Degree in Professional School Counseling in 2007. I feel
that this degree has helped to strengthen my understanding of the
development
and emotional growth of my students. I believe that we can learn as much
from the children, as they can learn from us and I have enjoyed growing
right
along with your children.
Our classroom is a place were students feel comfortable and excited. Our
classroom is structured in a way that accomodates the needs of all the
students and enables active student learning. The children learn through
hands-on participation in many independent and cooperative activities
throughout the day. First grade is a very important year for your child and
I look forward to creatig many new opportunities for him/her to learn and
grow.
