Welcome to K-2!
The children are busy in kindergarten learning their letters and their
beginning, middle and ending sounds! The children are putting the letters and
sounds they have learned together and making simple words. In other
words...we are busy learning to read! Please continue to review the high
frequency words that we have learned as well as reading the take-home books
with your child at night. You will be pleasantly surprised at all of the
words they can read in their books.
In math we have been busy learning our numbers and counting up to 20.
Providing your child with extra practice at home is beneficial. Use
cheerios, noodles or anything of that nature as a counter when helping your
child to count. Making learning the numbers into a game can make learning
fun!
In K-2 we are continuing to try to keep the children as healthy as possible
in school during this cold and flu season. Donatations of clorox wipes, baby
wipes and tissues are always appreciated.
Now that the weather is cold please remember to send your child to school
with an appropriate winter coat as well has a hat and gloves. Encourage your
child to learn how to put his/her coat on by themselves. We are always there
to help however, we do encourage independence whenever we can.
