Homework

A homework sheet will be sent home every Friday. Once we begin our Weekly
Reading Lessons, Reading flashcard “sight words” for the following week’s
story will be included. Please cut these apart and keep them at home in a
Ziploc bag. Your child should practice reading these words as part of
his/her daily homework and eventually be able to read these words
independently.

Please keep your homework sheet in a safe place at home. Please refer to
this sheet for nightly homework assignments. You will notice a pattern when
we are following a full week schedule:
Monday- Spelling Words 3X each & Math
Tuesday- Language Arts & Math
Wednesday- Spelling & Math
Thursday- Spelling Sentences & Math
Friday- No written homework; please practice all flashcards

It is also a great idea to read with your child for at least 15 minutes each
evening, in addition to any other homework. A good time for this is right
before bed.
Homework assignments reinforce skills learned in class and are therefore
very important and must be handed in on time. In event of an emergency when
homework cannot be completed, please write me a note. Unexcused, late or
missing assignments will effect your child's semester grade. Your child
should not be spending more than a half hour on homework each evening. If
this occurs, please let me know.
