Philadelphia Zoo Trip
Date: October 28, 2011
Time: 8:00am - 2:45pm
Please refer to the handout given to all current TAG students.
It is imperative that your child arrives by 8am to board the bus.
Since the trip takes an hour and a half we must leave on time and can not
wait for late arrivals. I have scheduled workshops to attend at the zoo.
I'm hoping to return to school by 2:50pm. However, if we hit traffic and miss
the dismissal busses, please tell your child who to call to pick them up.
Please have an adult ready in case this happens. I will do my best to get us
back on time.
There are four busses and 111 TAG students.
I will ride the Arleth bus along with a substitute nurse, Mrs. Stader.
Mrs. Cardillo, librarian will be in charge on the Eisenhower bus.
Mrs. Porpora, ASI math teacher will be in charge of the Truman bus.
Mrs. Steinhart, librarian will be in charge of the Wilson bus.
Parent chaperones will be notified. Their duties will include keeping the
group together at all times and assisting the teacher with zoo activities and
bathroom trips. Since the groups will divide it is important that we have
chaperones always watching out for the safety of the entire group of children.
I am very diligent when it comes to a safe, enjoyable trip.
All students will receive a buddy to walk with. However, no one will be
allowed to leave the group at any time unless for a bathroom emergency.
A parent will accompany the child into the bathroom.
I have decided to eat on the bus going home so more time can be spent
observing the animals. We will leave the zoo at 1pm.
Please discuss the instructions from my handout with your child.
This trip is the kick-off to our TAG theme, "Think Extinct".
I'm sure we will have a terrific time.
The students are very excited and so am I!
Thank you,
Mrs. P. Hudock
