November News.....
It's hard to believe that this first marking period is coming to a
close. Time really does fly when you're having fun. Although November is a
short month, we still have many things to accomplish.
Congratulations to my class for doing a GREAT job on their October
book reports. November's will be going home shortly. Again, directions
will be sent home with the outline for the report. There seemed to have
been some confusion with some students as to what books were acceptable. By
this time all of our class should be reading chapter books. Eventhough
children read at different levels, there are chapter books to accommodate
them all. Therefore, no matter where your child is in his/her reading
ability, there is an appropriate book out there for his/her reading
success. This is why it is important that I approve the book your child is
to read. In addition, this is also why your child must return his/her
library books on the appropriate days. If a book does not come back, then
another cannot be borrowed.
Also, passwords have been sent home with your child for our on-line
reading program. Please check the ThinkCentral website weekly for our weekly
classroom story being read. In addition, if you have not signed up for
NEWSFLASH on this website, please do. This will keep you informed of
classroom happenings and things you need to know as they're happening.
Mark November 18th on your calendar. It is Parent Visitation Day for
American Education Week. A notice will be going home informing you of the
time of day that you will be able to come and visit with us. Hopefully you
can make it. I know the children look forward to showing you a little of
what they are doing in their school day.
Report cards will be issued on November 25th. Also remember, this is a
half day. Please make sure you make arrangements for your child on this day
and all early dismissal days. Just a reminder, early dismissal is at 1:15.
Another day to mark on your calendar is November 13th. Our PTO will be
sponsoring our Fall Festival Dance. This is a fun-filled evening with
refreshments, music and face painting.
Lastly, November is a month when we reflect what we are thankful for.
I would like to thank all of you for your continued support in your
children's learning.
!!!Happy Thanksgiving!!!
