Students will have a book report each month from October through April. Please encourage your child to read often. If you have a chance to read the book too, you can be a "buddy" to your child. Discuss it, see if he or she has a good understanding for what is being read. Look for new sight words each month. Students also receive spelling words geared toward their spelling ability - look for those words too. Spelling City is a fun website students can use to practice spelling. With each new story, students receive new vocabulary words. These should be studied and used in sentences at home. Vocabulary words are available on line through Think Central. Directions to log on to TC were sent home in September. Reading stories are available on line through Think Central. It's a great site - use it!
