Grading Policy:
Grade point average will consist of tests, quizzes (some may be unannounced)
homework, writing assignments and projects. Tests count twice as much as
quizzes when calculating grade point average.
Being unprepared for class will negatively affect grade point average. Being
prepared means bringing your textbook, composition book, folder, homework
and
pen to class every day.
Homework completion (including handing it in on time, neatness and following
directions) will count as one quiz grade per marking period. Up to 10 points
will be deducted for each missing or incomplete assignment. Points vary
depending on number of homework assignments each marking period.
Various homework assignments, announced and unannounced, will also be graded.
Homework pads must be signed every weekend by a parent or guardian. This is
a weekly homework assignment that will be checked each Monday.
Any grade that is 74 or below must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Rewards:
Good grades! Pride! Self-satisfaction! Success!
Students earn a homework pass twice a marking period if all assignments are
complete.
Classes periodically earn group rewards. There is a great mid-year and an
awesome grand prize for the class that wins the homework competition.
What I expect... motivated students who want to learn, have respect for me
and others and do their best work.
