Citing Sources

*** MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, seventh edition can be
found behind the circulation desk.

*** Cite it Right: The SourceAid Guide to Citation, Research, and Avoiding
Plagiarism is also behind the circulation desk.

Your list of Works Cited should contain all the sources you include in your
paper, including internal citations. The Works Cited list will appear at the
end of your research paper and should be on a separate page.

Number the Works Cited page as a continuation of your paper. If your paper
ends on page 21, the list of Works Cited begins on page 22.

Omit the use of "p." or "pp." to indicate page numbers.
Double space the entire list.

Arrange the list alphabetically, using the author's last name. If there is no
author, use the first word of the title, disregarding "a," "an," and "the."
Begin the first line of each entry at the left margin and indent the
following lines of each entry five spaces from the left margin.

Do not number the sources in a list of Works Cited.

If more than one source by an author is used, alphabetize those entries by
title.
