Monday, November 9th
Today students were asked to complete 2 short writing assignments for our new
novel, Salem Falls.
First Assignment: On a piece of paper, write down the character you chose
for your journal project. Why did you choose this character? What about
him/her appeals to you? Talk about specific events that you read. This
should be 1 full page.
Second Assignment: On Wednesday, you drew a picture of the scene in the
excerpt on page 3 of Picoult's novel. Connect your picture to the events of
the novel, pages 1 – 70, that you read over the weekend.
In addition, students were assigned 2 questions from the study guide to
answer. Students should be prepared to discuss their answers and impressions
of the novel with the class during a class discussion tomorrow.
Homework: Answer the two questions you have been assgined from the study
guide and be prepared discuss your answers and impressions of the novel with
the class during a class discussion tomorrow. Also, please have pages 71 -
94 read for Thursday.
Tuesday, November 10th
Class discussion of pages 1 - 70.
Homework: Read "April 2000" section pages 71 - 94 read for Thursday. Have a
nice day off :)
