We know we're a few days late on this, but we've FINALLY posted the 5 Finalists for our Best Website contest on our Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/TeacherWebInc
. You have from now until midnight next Wednesday, May 22nd, to vote on your favorite. The winner will receive a free year of TeacherWeb, and the 4 runners-up will get $15 Starbucks giftcards, so vote wisely! The Finalists' websites are posted in their own photo album on our Facebook page, so check those out first, visit the sites, click around, then come back and vote via our poll.
Thanks for your participation - we were amazed by all the entries and fantastic websites that we got to review, and if you didn't end up in the Top 5, know that it's because there are so many stellar educators out there using our products to reach their students and families that it was almost impossible for us to choose.
Thanks again,
The folks at TeacherWeb

Homework is an important part of your child's academic program in school. I encourage you to use it as a time to discuss with your child what was done and learned in school that day. Let me stress that I LOVE WHEN PARENTS HELP THEIR CHILDREN WITH HOMEWORK!!! :) It gives you the parent a chance to see first hand the many different things your child is learning in school. I will assign homework Monday through Thursday, and most nights there will be reading, grammar, spelling, and some nights even some kind of writing. My homework is primarily a review or extension of what was taught in class, usually very simple, and definitely should not take more than 30 minutes or so to complete. There will not be any homework on Fridays! You need time to go be a family! Enjoy your weekend! :) We will usually check homework together in class. I find that if students see their own mistakes, they learn from them immediately. I will, sometimes, want to check a particular assignment myself. When I do that, I will use a "check plus" if the work was exceptional, a "check" if the work was satisfactory, and a "check minus" if the work was poor and could have been completed better. In addition to my homework assignments, there will also be various homework assignments from other teachers as well. Please check your child's assignment pad daily to be sure they are completing all assigned work!
