Señora Davidzon was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and lived there until
2002. Before moving to the United States she was a professor at the
University of Buenos Aires School of Law and taught both advanced English
and Spanish to foreign diplomates and corporate executives. In addition,
Señora Davidzon is a certified legal translator.
Señora Davidzon is married to a New York City school administrator and
writer and has two children. She and her husband backpack (off the beaten
path) throughout Latin America each summer to learn about various local
people, history and culture. Señora Davidzon is a regular participatant in
various Latino related activities in her native Argentina.
SPANISH 3- ACADEMIC
This course is designed for students who have completed
Spanish 2. Students will build upon their previous experience in
Spanish and continue to emphasize listening and speaking with some reading
and writing. Text-based thematic units focus on the integration of culture
and language and provide students with situational communication skills.
SPANISH 4 - ACCELERATED
This course is designed for highly motivated students who have achieved at a
high level in Spanish III Accelerated or its equivalent. Students will
improve their oral and written communication skills by studying thematic
units that incorporate a variety of resources. These units integrate
language and culture and provide students with a springboard for creative
communication about topics of personal and general interest.
SPANISH 5
This course is designed as a culminating experience for the
students who have studied Spanish during their SPFHS years. In
this course, students work to heighten their listening, speaking, reading,
and writing skills.
Grammatical structures are fine-tuned. Through thematic units, students
are given practice in hearing formal and informal Spanish, in writing
expository passages, and in reading material from a wide range of literary
and journalistic sources.
