ART MATTERS! Our students begin to explore Art in Kindergarten by
experiencing a wide variety of materials, concepts, and techniques used in
a "hands-on" approach, encouraging their individual expression and building
an awareness of Art. This progressive program continues through the eighth
grade as students are introduced to Art history through a study of a variety
of artists and their works, focusing on different movements and time periods
in Art. Through the use of a collection of videos, slides and reproductions
of paintings, sculpture, architecture and photography, our students learn
about the elements and principles of art which helps develop their overall
appreciation for the visual arts.
