I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! It was beautiful on Saturday for
Trick-or-Treating. This week we're back to our normal schoolwork. In ILA we
will learn how to spell words with the long i sound. Our weekly theme is
called People and their Pets. The skills that will be tested at the end of the
theme are problem and solution, vocabulary, multiple meaning words and
compound sentences. In math we will begin chapter 4 which is a quick review of
addition. In science we will learn about classifying animals. We will learn
about Native Americans in social studies this week. In religion we will learn
how the Holy Spirit helps us do the right thing as we focus on chapter 7.
It was wonderful seeing so many of our families at the International Festival
last week and again on Friday for Mass and the Halloween Parade. Thank you to
all who brought things in for our food table at the International Festival.
Some students have a dress down tomorrow since they wore their uniform to the
International Festival. Test folders will go out on Tuesday or Wednesday this
week. Don't forget to send in your conference time slip if you didn't already.
I know I'm missing a few from my oldest and only children. On Tuesday there
will be a different dismissal procedure due to Election Day. There will be a
noon dismissal on Friday. Check the communication envelope for more details
and information.
Make it a great week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Monet Burns-Wilmott
