Announcements for  the week of  7 December 2009 

 

Please check the communication "envelope" which is posted online every Monday with scheduled activities for the week.

New reading logs will be distributed for December and January.  Please initial and send back to school whenever your child completes his/her designated reading. 

 

Tuesday, 8 December,  is the feast of the Immaculate Conception and a school holiday.

Friday, 11 December,  is our traditional Christmas program that will be held in the school auditorium.  Please check the communication "envelope" for more details.   

 

Your child has taken the tutorial for the Writing Road Map program.   Please have him/her review this often as it will be used for a diocesan writing assessment in May.  The children will practice using this program both at school and home.   

 

Tentative Test schedule for this week: 

 
Friday 4 December - Spelling test words with  silent letters
                                    - math test on Chapter 6 (may possibly be on Thursday)                               

 

In addition to the posted homework, please have your child read 20 to 30 minutes each evening to help build vocabulary, sentence structure, and comprehension skills, continue to strengthen multiplication facts, and spend 10 minutes on the Writing Road Map program at least 2 days a week.
