Children in grades K through 2 will be working in a website which
challenges their basic computer skills (using the mouse, the arrow keys, the
enter key, etc.) as well as reiforcing their math skills in addition and
subtraction, word problems, memorization and language arts.
Grades 3, 4 and 5 will be working on improving their keyboarding skills
by adding new letters to their checklist as we work through the alphabet.
Grade 5 had the opportunity to enter the Writing Roadmap program last week
and now all students, grades 3 through 7 have the site code, their username
and password.
6th and 7th grades, having completed the Writing Roadmap tutorial and
successful login to the program last week, will enter an essay into the
program and work with its' tools.
The 8th graders will be exploring a Catholic website this week and using
it as a resource to research Saints. With their Confirmation approaching
next fall this will give them the opportunity to see if they can find a saint
they particularly admire and whose name they might want to consider as a
Confirmation name. (It is traditional to select a saints' name as ones
Confirmation name, but this project is for informational purposes only). The
students are going to select 5 saints to write about in a Word Document which
they will then format and edit.
Congratulations to all those who won baskets at the Basket Raffle Friday
night...it was a wonderful evening! Many thanks to the HSA for all the
months of hard work that went into making the event so successful.
Have a blessed week~
Love and prayers,
Mrs. Z
