This is my seventh year of teaching in Washington Boro. I graduated
in 2001 from The College of New Jersey with a degree in Early Childhood
Education and Sociology. In May I graduated with a Master's degree in
Special Education from The College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ. It
took my almost 3 years, but I am so happy to finish!
As many of you have heard, I plan to marry in November. That's when the
OFFICIAL name change will take place, though I've tried to make the
transition a little easier by changing my name preemptively in school. I'm
still trying to get used to the change, and I imagine the students will have
some difficult too!
Check out the pix of my trip to Mexico to see the Monarch's overwintering
colonies. One of my favorite things to do is to travel and see new places.
So far I have visited seven different countries with hopes to travel to many
more.
For young children, learning occurs in all aspects of a child's day. Singing
songs, playing independently or with a group, and participating in classroom
routines (snack, cleaning up, learning centers, and circle/meeting time) are
just a few examples of opportunities children have to learn. The two
greatest compliments that I hope to receive are simple, that my students come
into my classroom with a smile in the morning and that they leave with a
smile at the end of our day together.
Each year is new and different, and I look forward to the time that we will
have together this year!
