I have been teaching Resource Room (special education classes) at Terrill
since the late 1970s. I obtained a masters degree in Learning Disabilities
from Montclair State College during the 1980s and I have taken additional
graduate courses at Kean in math, science and technology. Not only am I a
product of the SPF school system, but my husband and two children have also
gone through the school system!
I took a course on HTML and designed an educational web page at Kean
University. To view my completed site, please go to Links and click on the
blue URL for my site. I have also created a web page which highlights the
books about disabilities that I received from a grant several years ago.

"Links" to see the finished product.
I have taught grades 5-9 in my years at Terrill. All grades, subjects, and
ages are exciting to me, and I delight in the enthusiasm and effort displayed
by your children. This year I will be teaching 5th, 7th and 8th grade math
classes, some Pull Out Replacement(POR) and some InClass Resource(ICR).
I just love the variety!
I welcome input and communication from parents. Working together as a
parent-teacher-child team is something which I believe will benefit our
children! I am an avid emailer and will be prompt in answering your
communications.
My mission for my Resource classes is to provide an environment where the
students feel accepted, respected, understood and challenged. In replacement
classes, I try to parallel the curriculum being taught in the mainstream to
the fullest extent possible while providing alternate methods of learning
and adhering to the goals and objectives of the individual IEPs. I coordinate
my lessons with the core content curriculum standards with an eye to the
upcoming state tests the children will be taking. When I have taught in the
inclass support classes, I work with all children in the class and try to
share the class responsibilities with the regular education teacher 50/50. It
is important to integrate the classified children in these classes as fully
as possible so that they feel successful and accepted. My goal is to help all
children become successful learners in addition to becoming more independent
and responsible.
