Study Tips

Preparing for Quizzes and Tests...

"Studying" for a Math quiz or test is more like "practicing." In addition to
looking over vocabulary words and any handouts from the "Class Notes" section
of your binder, you should practice solving problems and checking your
answers.

For instance, you may cover over the answers in your Math Journal with a post-
it note and try the problems over again. Then, lift the post-it note to
check your answer (as long as it has a star on it, you'll know that it is
correct from going over it in class).

Also, look up the topics we are working on in the Student Reference Book
index or check the lists below. Each page reviews important notes about the
topic, has examples of how to solve and includes a "Check Your Understanding"
box at the bottom with practice problems. The answers to the practice
problems are listed in the back of the book so both you and your parents get
immediate feedback about how you're doing!! :)

You may also find helpful links to other Math sites by exploring our class
