About The Teacher

A few short years ago, Mrs. Rosander was a Terrill student just like you!
She is so excited to be back at Terrill . . . as a teacher this time. :)

After attending Terrill Middle School, Mrs. Rosander had a great time at
Scotch Plains - Fanwood High School before leaving for college. She
attended American University in Washington D.C. for a year before
deciding it wasn't quite right for her. Then she transferred to the
University of Virginia, a place where everything seemed to fall into place.
Mrs. Rosander loved her time in Charlottesville, a small town about six hours
southwest of Scotch Plains. She graduated from UVA in May 2002 with
two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of
Teaching degree in Elementary Education (K-8).

After graduation, Mrs. Rosander moved back to the SPF area. She got married
in October 2003, which is why you might know her as "Ms. Polito" since that
was her last name before the wedding. Her new husband was also a Terrill
student! He was in 8th grade when Mrs. Rosander was in 6th grade. They
didn't start dating until college, though. You may also know the "original
Mrs. Rosander" who taught 4th grade at McGinn Elementary School before
retiring a few years ago. She is the "new" Mrs. Rosander's husband's
mother. Whew!

A year-and-a-half ago, Mrs. Rosander had a baby girl named Kylie. They like
to read books, play with toys, go for long walks and sing songs together.
It's a busy household with a little girl and three cats (Calvin, Hobbes and
Clutch) but it's definitely a lot of fun. Mrs. Rosander is expecting her
second child in January, so things will get even busier!

Mrs. Rosander is very excited about teaching 6th grade Math for the 6th year
in a row, but even more ecstatic about having you in one of her classes!
