What can I do to make help my child improve his or her reading skills?

The single greatest thing that anyone can do to help a child with reading is 
to read to the child on a regular basis.  Take turns reading.  Find 
something that your child is interested in.  If your child picks a difficult 
book read it to them.  This will help your child with vocabulary and 
fluency. 
Ask your child some questions about what is being read.
