Assignment Format/ Requirements: 
*Use lined paper and include your name and the date and write the words: “Current Event” across the 
top.
*Author or the source (newspaper or website) of the article.
*SUMMARY SENTENCES: AT LEAST 5 complete sentences. Use your own words. 
* COMCLUSION SENTENCE: 1 – 2 sentence reaction summary telling me whether you liked the article 
or not and why OR something that you learned from the article  
 *NEATNESS and SPELLING counts! Proofread your article! 
* 1 point off for every day late. 
*Points will also be deducted for misspellings, grammar errors, sloppiness, and summaries that are 
too short.
