Grading Policy
Your student's grade in art is composed of four areas:

Cooperation/Participation - 20% - The student is attentive and cooperative, voluntarily participates
in class discussions, completes art projects, and is prepared. Students are required to bring a pencil
to every art class.

Projects - 70% - The student completes art projects following directions in a timely manner.

Quizzes - 3% - One quiz per marking period will be given. The quizzes will be based on art
concepts we have either developed in an art project or reviewed through the use of visuals in
preparation for a project.

Tests/Homework - 7% - There will be two art tests for the year. The tests will be based on the
elements and principles of design discussed and utilized in the art lessons. Students will
occasionally be required to research an artist or art period for a homework assignment.
