How can I help my child with homework?

Just ask them to explain what they did in class. Homework is based on effort
not accuracy. Sign the assignment to prove that they did try the work.

Are there ever any extra credit projects available?

In Algebra, the extra credit project can be found at the beginning of each
chapter. In 8th grade math
there isn't any extra credit. For all students, 2 extra points will be added
to a quiz or test grade if they
correct and have the assessment signed.

Is it possible to have a copy of the textbook at home?

Yes, I have enough Algebra textbooks to have the students share them in
class. For 8th grade math, I
have enough red Pre-Algebra textbooks to use during class time. The small
booklets for Connected
Math should be kept in their 3 ring binder.
