Hi, and thank you for taking the time to check out our website! My family
has lived in Upper Township for many years, and I am a proud graduate of the
Upper Township Middle School and Ocean City High School. I have always
wanted to become a teacher, and I graduated from Trenton State College with
degrees in Elementary Education and History. Throughout my career, I have
taught preschool through second grade, as well as Basic Skills in third and
fourth grades, and several CEUT classes. My family and I live very close to
school and we walk to and from school in all kinds of weather- so if you see
us, wave!
When I am not in school, I love spending time outdoors- on the beach with my
family, walking/hiking, or working in my garden. I also enjoy reading and
music. I am very blessed to both live and work in such a great community!
My mission has always been to help children develop a life-long love of
learning. This is definitely a collaborative effort between all of our
teachers, parents, aides, administrators, and dedicated volunteers.
Together, we endeavor to meet each child's learning needs in a positive,
encouraging environment. In second grade, one of our main areas of focus is
to become fluent readers and proficient writers. In math, we strive for
mastery of basic skills and concepts in order to become better problem
solvers. Equally important is the time we spend on social skills- beyond
the Code of Conduct to really working cooperatively as a classroom
community. It is such a privilege to watch our young students grow in so
many areas!
