World of Work--8th gradePROJECTS ARE PAST DUE! Your career project is due in class the week of May 6. Expo night is June 6. For all documents and information, bo to the VMS website -----> Information------->Grade 8 expo. Marking period 4- 3/29-Labor laws/working papers ***Think about how you will present your 8th grade expo career project and be prepared to complete needs assessment next week (will you need table space, floor space, a laptop, etc on expo night?) 4/15-Your career project is due in class the week of May 6. Expo night is June 6. Week of May 6- Grade 8 expo project is due this week. We are presenting the projects in class up until expo night! Make sure you do so!! ____________________________________________________ Marking period 3- 1/28-complete portfolio on careercruising.com 2/8- print completed portfolio 2/15-complete worksheet 6 using career cruising 3/1-complete proposal (for 8th grade expo project) and get parent signature for next class) 3/8-complete interview (if you cannot interview a live person, this can be found on careercruising.com) 3/15-values survey (catch up on makeup work...2 more weeks and everything must be completed!) 3/22-action plan (This is the last assignment for the marking period. If it is not completed in class it, as well as any other late work must be submitted by Tues, 3/26, in order to be included in the marking period grade. Since these assignments are required for the 8th grade expo project, they all need to be completed at some point, so submit it this week to receive credit!) **** ----- ****Students should be thinking about how they are going to present/display their learning about the career of their choice for their 8th grade project. They will need to let their 4th marking period teachers know this soon. __________________Marking period 2- Week of 11/12- dream cloud Beginning of Dec--Pink slip/job loss/ complete resumes 12/14-personality types--complete packet 12/21-begin assessments on career cruising (complete written work--worksheet 3) 1/7- all 3 assessments on career cruising should be complete! 1/14 and 1/21-print learning styles and do worksheets 1 and 2. _____________-- Marking period 1- By 9/11-save and print the World of Work survey from the Real Game. By 9/25-wish list must be saved on real game and printed. Family Tree careers are due soon (9/27 or the next class we meet!) By 10/8- receive/print role profiles, complete "a day in the life"/save/print, complete the neighborhood party Family Trees are past due!!!! This was the only homework for this marking period. By 10/22-complete reality check, work out finances, and print new wish list and reality check tabs. By the end of the marking period, complete the poster activity. |
