                     Welcome to Marking Period Four!

Reading book report:  DUE DATE June 5th!

Create a newspaper article and write a speech (on index cards) based on the mystery novel that you chose.

Write a three-paragraph newspaper article about the mystery in your story.  Make sure that your story has a beginning, middle, and end to your story.

Below is the information that MUST be included in your three-paragraph story and on your index cards.

Characters:

·       Suspects: Characters believed to have possibly committed the crime.

·       Detective: Character trying to solve the mystery

·       Witnesses: Characters who saw the crime being committed.

Setting:

This is the location where the mystery takes place.

Plot:

When reading a mystery, the story usually includes a few of the following:

·       A problem that needs to be solved.

·       An event that cannot be explained

·       A secret

·       Something that is lost or missing

·       A crime that has been committed

Clues:

·       Clues are hints that can help the reader and the detective solve the mystery.  The can be things that people say or do, or objects that are found that provide important information.

Resolution:

·       How the mystery is solved.
