Judith Vihonski is the District Coordinator of Workshop, the gifted and
talented program for the Oakland Public Schools. She serves on
PSE&G’s Education Advisory Committee and The Business and
Industry Educational Council.
She has received numerous grants/awards including the prestigious
Best Practice Award from the New Jersey Department of Education for
the JOY (Joining Old & Young) program. She has also received
grants/awards for educational initiatives from A+ for Kids, NJBISEC,
Kodak, Fleet Bank, Orange Rockland Utilities, the New Jersey Historical
Commission, PSE&G, NJAGC (New Jersey Association for Gifted
Children) and Business Week magazine. She received the Volunteer of
1994 award from the NJDEP and The Clean Communities award in
2004.
She has presented at the New Jersey School Boards Convention, the
New Jersey Education Association Convention, and the ANJEE
Convention.
To provide challenging educational experiences and be "a guide on the
side."
