Strategies for WRITING POST IT NOTES

1. Stop at the end of chapter and write a post it about what happened in the chapter, or what questions you have about that chapter.

2.          Predict what will happen in the next chapter from reading the chapter title.

3.          When something interesting happens write a PREDICTION.

4.          When something confusing happens write a QUESTION

5.          When something makes sense

write what you now REALIZE

6.          When something bothers you

write a REACTION or OPINION

 

  READING STRATEGIES
 
Write POST IT NOTES if you:
  •   PREDICT: Before and during reading, think about upcoming events.
  • QUESTION: Question the text, author & character.
  •  CLARIFY: Write down the words that are difficult to define or pronounce.
  • SUMMARIZE: Write down the main events.
  • VISUALIZE:  Draw the picture formed in your mind.
  • CONNECT:  Write down ways in which the text reminds you of something.
  • REACT: Write feelings or reactions to the text.
