Chunks | ||
Throughout the school year we will be learning how to recognize and use chunks to decode words. For example, if your child can recognize the chunk "at", he or she should be able to read the words hat, cat, bat, mat, sat, that, chat, flat, splat, etc. Please have your child use this reading strategy, "Looking for chunks in words", when decoding unfamiliar words.
