Fictional Narratives
This month we have begun to write narratives that we make up. Our
imaginations can soar and we can be creative. Here are some of the skills we
work to include in our writing:
*HOOKS - an interesting beginning makes the reader want to keep reading,
don't forget to introduce the characters and the setting.
* All stories must have a beginning, a middle, and an ending
* The middle of the story includes a problem, attempts by the character to
solve the problem, and lots of ACTION
* SHOW DON"T TELL - unpack your adjectives and describe! describe!
describe! use active verbs and WOW words
* Extended Ending - at the end of the story, tell about the wishes,
decisions, or memories of the character. Use the sentence starters in your PAL
