Homework

Homework is a time to practice skills learned in class or prepare for an
upcoming exam. Homework develops responsibility and good study habits.

Homework is given Mon. - Thurs.

Daily Homework:

Reading:
Books read, for this assignment, should be JUST RIGHT books and are
chosen cooperatively between the student and the teacher.
              Monday - Thursday
              1. Read for 15 - 20 minutes each night.
(Power Reading with a parent is helpful for many students)
              2. Reading Log assignments may be included. Check your child's
                 homework pad.

* Please help your child proofread their work and make any necessary
corrections in capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.

* Please check your child's homework pad for notes or missing assignments.

What happens if homework is not completed and returned to school the next day?
If an assignment is not returned to school the next day, the student will
receive a zero for homework for that day. (Homework is calculated as a
percent of the grade for that subject each marking period.) The student will
be given the opportunity to complete the assignment at home that night and a
note will be in their homework pad. If the assignment is incomplete the next
day, the student will complete it during recess time. If more than one
assignment is incomplete in the same week, I will call you at home to discuss
any difficulties your child may be experiencing.

*Feel free to call or write a note in the homework pad - as I do look at it
daily.
