PROBLEM SOLVING:
For all problem solving and word problem activities the students were told to
follow these steps: 1. Read the entire problem, 2. Draw a squiggly line under
the question, 3. Underline all important pieces of information, 4. Reread
each important piece of information one at a time and follow it, 5. Answer
the question and label your answer.

Here are some helpful hints to remember the facts
Multiplication Mnemonics:
0 - zero looks like a mouth which eats up the other number
1 - One sounds like gum and resembles a stick of chewing gum.
One, like gum, sticks to another number and becomes that number.
2 - skip count by 2s
5 - skip count by 5s (use the clock face to help you)
7 - multiply the other factor by 5 and by 2 then add the products together
9 - use the finger trick
