| Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. Your child will only have
homework over the weekend if it is makeup work or homework from their
mainstream teacher. The homework will be listed in their Homework Journal.
You may check off or intial each assignment as it is done. Please write me a
note in the journal if you are unable to complete an assignment that night.
You may hold on to that assignment and have your child do it the following
night. I would also like to know if the homework was too difficult for your
child. The next day, I will work on the assignment with your child and let
you know strategies for helping them with those skills. I believe homework
is important because it is a valuable tool in helping students make the most
of their experiences in school. Homework helps reinforce what has been
learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches
responsibility and helps students develop positive study habits. A student
will lose a ticket if the assignment is not done, unless a note stating why
it was not completed is given. Rewards will be given out at the end of every
month for those students who had all their homework completed on time for the
month.
