Minutes - the minutes from the April 8th General Meeting were reviewed.
Bonnie Parks motioned to accept the minutes. Approved.
President’s Report:
Linda reported that the Faculty Appreciation Luncheon ran smoothly thanks to
Michelle Wood, Tracy Hanzes and the volunteers who worked the event. Linda
also mentioned a thank you letter was sent to the PTA from soldiers who
received donations from Just BeCause. A few announcements were also made by
Mrs. Marmora. The Spring Plant Sale is being held Monday and Tuesday May 19th
& 20th. The PTA is in the process of trying to convert from flyers to email
notification. Finally Linda introduced the chairperson of the 2008-09

Cathy Cosgrove announced the proposed 2008-09 Executive Board

A general vote was held and the new slate of officers was adopted.
VP Events
Lindsay announced that next year's Holiday Sale will be on Dec. 11 & 12 and a
contract is being signed with Metro. Lindsay also mentioned that she is
considering a magazine subscription fundraiser for next year.
VP Fundraising
Carol thanked everyone who help out with fundraising this year. Carol
annoounced that Spirit Wear has been delivered and will be distributed before
Field Day.
Treasurer
Roberta reported that the income tax filing for 2007 is complete.
Teacher Liaisons
Mrs. Bastolla thanked the PTA on behalf of the faculty for the luncheon, the
scholastic book fair gifts and for the Smart Boards.
Mrs. Taylor thanked the PTA for the Mobile Ark assembly. Everyone is looking
forward to the penguin assembly as well. Mrs. Taylor announced that the
Student Council's next projectwill be to help the people of Darfur and would
like to thank everyone in advance for their support.
Nrs, Grafas thanked the PTA for the luncheon and for giving the teachers an
extra 20 minutes to eat lunch. Mrs. Grafas stated that our culture of
community service and giving has been very apparent these last few months.The
principal also thanked the parents for minimizing absences during testing and
for attending to safety in front of the school after dismissal. Finally, Mrs.
Grafas made some announcements: Diversity Day will be May 22, Field Day will
be May 28, during which regular lunch will be served. Testing in 2009 will be
May 4-7 for 3rd grade, May 4-8 for 4th Grade and May 11-14 for 5th grade.
Announcements - The PTA Installation Dinner will be on May 22 at Bacio's
Restaurant. Linda thanked Sonia Klein, Michelle Wood and Bonnie Parks for all
the work they have done for the PTA during the past few years.
Recommendations: Lindsay recommended that the PTA purchase 5 additional Smart
Boards. Cathy Cosgrove seconded...recommendation was adopted.
Amy Soler motioned to close the meeting. Seconded - Meeting ended at 8:20 pm.
