It is with great pride, enthusiasm, and a sincere commitment to excellence in which I am welcomed
to Weehawken High School as an instrumental music teacher and Band Director. I received my Bachelor
of Music Degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and am
currently in the process of completing a Masters of Instrumental Conducting Degree at the American
Band College of Sam Houston State University. While attending Berklee College of Music, I had the honor
of playing in some of Berklee’s top music ensembles such as the Contemporary Wind Orchestra and the
Berklee Brass Ensemble. During my time at Berklee, I also joined “BC bOp!” (Boston College’s Elite Big
Band Jazz Ensemble) and the Boston College Marching Band. I performed and traveled around the
country with the Boston College Marching Band for three years. After my first year in the band, I served
as a section leader and for my last year I was appointed to the Band’s Executive Board. Along with all of
the great performance groups at Berklee and Boston College, I had the honor of serving as the Vice
President of Berklee’s MENC (The National Association for Music Education) Collegiate Chapter.
It is my mission to make our ensembles here in Weehawken the best they can possibly be. Having been
a member of outstanding performing ensembles myself, I know and understand the discipline and
effort needed to make a superior ensemble. Participation in a superior ensemble provides pathways to
personal growth, good judgment, fosters a lifelong appreciation and commitment to music and the arts,
and helps in forming a well-rounded, truly educated person. Music is a wonderful part of all our lives,
and I am honored to share my knowledge of it with the Weehawken community!
Goals & Objectives
To make the Weehawken High School Music Ensembles some of the leading performing ensembles in
the state of New Jersey, while deepening the students’ understanding of fundamental knowledge and
skills, practicing self-discipline and creative critical thinking skills, and allowing them self-discovery
and expression of their feelings and ideas.
